FAQs
A Gurukul is a traditional Indian residential school where students live with their guru (teacher) and learn various disciplines including Vedas, Sanskrit, dharma, yoga, and life skills in a spiritual and disciplined environment.
Our Gurukul is located in the sacred city of Kashi (Varanasi), Uttar Pradesh, a historic and spiritual center of learning in India.
The Gurukul was founded by Mohan Acharya, a respected scholar and teacher dedicated to preserving and reviving India’s ancient educational system through traditional, value-based learning.
Students receive a holistic education that includes:
- Vedas and Upanishads
- Sanskrit language and grammar
- Yoga and pranayama
- Dharma and moral values
- Arts, music, and practical skills
- Daily discipline and seva (selfless service)
Currently, the Gurukul primarily follows the traditional model which is residential for boys. However, we may offer short-term programs or workshops for all interested learners in the future.
Typically, children between the ages of 8 to 14 are accepted for full-time residential learning, though specific cases may be considered on individual merit and family background.
Yes, while the focus is on Vedic and cultural education, we also integrate basic academic subjects to ensure well-rounded growth and readiness for modern life.
You can fill out the Admission Inquiry Form on our website or contact us directly via phone or email. We usually conduct an interaction session with the child and parents before final acceptance.
We follow a donation-based model. Education at the Gurukul is not commercial. However, families who can contribute are encouraged to support the Gurukul’s daily needs. No deserving student is turned away for lack of funds.
